Last year, So They Can partnered with Lesaffre North America to take on one of the biggest challenges facing children in Kenya and Tanzania: hunger. Together, we are in the process of installing Drip Irrigation Systems across school farms in 9 of our partner schools, helping thousands of children access reliable, nutritious meals through school feeding programs.

Building on this success, and recognizing the urgent need to expand agricultural and feeding initiatives across all 52 of our partner schools, we are thrilled to announce that Lesaffre Kenya has joined hands with us as a new partner.

Empowering Communities in Baringo, Kenya

Lesaffre Kenya’s support will begin by focusing on one school community:

• Chesirimion Primary School (Baringo) — where a harsh, semi-arid climate and extreme drought make growing crops incredibly difficult, leaving feeding programs unsustainable. Through this partnership, Chesirimion Primary will benefit from the installation of a Drip Irrigation System — enabling them to produce quality crops despite the challenging climate.

A Partnership Rooted in Community

To mark the beginning of this exciting journey, our team in Kenya was proud to welcome members of Lesaffre Kenya to Chesirimion Primary School. During the visit, the team met students and teachers, listened to their stories, and heard first-hand about the challenges they face — as well as their hopes for a brighter future.

Reflecting on the experience, Nine Ayoub, General Manager for Lesaffre Kenya, shared:
