So They Can was thrilled to be the official charity partner for LegalTechTalk 2026.

Bringing together legal leaders, innovators, technology providers, investors, and startups from across the globe, LegalTechTalk is one of Europe’s leading events exploring the future of law, AI, and legal innovation.

With our own designated kiosk, the two-day conference gave us the chance to spotlight our mission to reduce poverty through access to quality education in Kenya and Tanzania. It was also an excellent opportunity to connect with existing UK partners, including Simmons & Simmons, BARBRI, Totum Partners and Thomson Reuters, and meet new faces.

At the event, So They Can was also delighted to convene the panel “Tech for Good: How Innovation Is Expanding Access to Justice in Tanzania”.

The panel featured Anna Williams (Responsible Business Manager at Simmons & Simmons), Dr Sarah Moffatt Stephens (Founder of Smart Justice) and So They Can’s Dr. Hannah McNicol.

The session explored So They Can’s “My Voice” project in Tanzania, which empowers children and the communities we work with to understand, claim and protect their rights. Through a grassroots network of community champions, the project is leveraging digital technology, strategic partnerships and Smart Justice’s purpose-built access to justice AI chatbot, Dada Wakili, to formalise protection mechanisms and build an evidence base to drive systemic reform.
