Education is life-changing.
Give the gift of quality education
to a whole community.

How It Works
Introducing the Education Collective
Did you know that quality education is the most effective way to break the poverty cycle? Or that, according to a recent study from the World Bank, for every additional year of education a child receives it increases their future income potential by up to 20%? What about the fact that by educating girls they tend to marry later and have fewer children, which in turn also reduces their impact on the environment? There are countless reasons why we need more investment in education in East Africa, and even more reasons why we can’t do it alone.
At So They Can, we believe in the power of collaboration. Which is why we’re bringing together like-minded individuals who are passionate about changing the future of those less fortunate than themselves to form Education Collectives. Each collective consists of 40 regular donors, who together will fund the support of a school in Tanzania to take the education of their students to the next level.
For a monthly contribution of $60, you can give a community of students the life-changing gift of a quality education and be the bridge to their brighter future.

Opportunities to attend exclusive events
At So They Can, we believe in the importance of knowledge sharing. As such, we curate regular online events where our members can learn from experts in a range of topics, from sustainable development to impact investing.
Our Community
Life in Rural Tanzania
For girls and boys in rural Tanzania, completing primary school and heading to secondary school is nothing short of a dream.
So They Can supports students and schools in the Manyara Region of Tanzania, which has one of the lowest Primary School Leaving Exam pass rates of all the regions in the country. This means that millions of children in the region are unable to progress to secondary school and will often drop out without completing their last year in primary school.
School drop-out rates in the Manyara Region of Tanzania are also very high due to poverty. Many children have no choice but to leave school early, together with their life's hopes and dreams, so that they can be put to work and help to provide for their family.
Whilst early marriage and female genital cutting are highly illegal, both are still practiced within some areas of Tanzania.

Introducing one of our Collaborative Schools
Endamaghi Primary School
Your monthly donation helps us to deliver our Education projects to Endamaghi Primary School. The school has approximately 400 students and a dedicated team of 11 teachers who are committed to improving the learning of their students. We have been working closely with Endamaghi to support them through our projects including:
- Let’s Read to develop early literacy;
- Raising funds to build a new classroom through our School Improvement project;
- Working with peer teachers through our Teacher Development project to ensure teachers are skilled and engaged;
- My Voice to educate the child and the community on the international rights of the child;
- Implementation of a feeding program to ensure that all students receive at least one hot meal per day; and
- Our School Community to engage parents and community leaders.
However, the school still faces challenges that we are committed to supporting them to solve. Many of their classrooms and pupil's toilets are built poorly and need to be re-built. There is no sports ground or equipment for students to play with and the school still lacks a staff room. As a result, we're looking for 40 like-minded individuals to join an Education Collective and enable us to do more work with the school to ensure students are receiving the quality education they deserve.
