Karibu Sana: Introducing our new partnership with BARBRI
Published 17th Jan, 2026
The So They Can Team were delighted to officially launch our partnership with BARBRI for 2026 yesterday!
Following a “Lunch & Learn” in October 2025 at BARBRI’s London offices, the launch brought together BARBRI’s London, Cardiff and online offices to learn more about So They Can’s model and how we can create impact together.
At So They Can, our mission is to end child poverty through access to quality education in Kenya and Tanzania. We started with 1 school in Kenya 17 years ago. Today, our reach is 56,000 children across 55 partner schools in Kenya and Tanzania.
Over 2026, BARBRI will support our Education Program in Baringo, Kenya, and our first activity as partners will be the 1HumanRace in March 2025. To mark International Women’s Day, So They Can’s 1HumanRace raises funds to help empower girls to stay in school and avoid having their futures cut short by child marriage or Female Genital Cutting (FGC).
We’ve seen the number of girls at risk of FGC and child marriage decline in our Baringo community in Kenya – from about 85% in 2021 to approximately 60% today.
To mark this figure of 60, partners form teams and do a “60 for 60” challenge: from 60 minutes of exercise a day, to 60 kms of running over the month of March, to 60 kms of cycling. We look forward to seeing what challenge the BARBRI team will take up!
Thursday’s launch also followed a donation from BARBRI to So They Can in lieu of speaker fees at their client event in early December, “Navigating Change: Insights to Support the Next Generation of Legal Talent”. We are really excited to be building momentum in the UK.
A big thank you to Lucie Allen, Chloe Garret, Sophia Swanepoel and Sophie Winstone-Patridge from the BARBRI team for their enthusiasm and energy so far in forging this partnership. See BARBRI’s news story on our partnership here.
Together, we can make a difference.
